About Me

Little Rompers Preschool is a licensed in-home preschool which has provided city of Shoreline  with a high quality childcare since 2010. I have 30+ years of teaching experience. I have a college background in Liberal Arts with an emphasis in early childhood development. My past work experience includes among others, being the program Director of a large private childcare center, as well as a Program Specialist for the State of WA at Shoreline Community College's Parent Child Center. I am CPR/First Aid Certified. I provide daily meals following USDA meal pattern quidelines supported through the City of Seattle Child Care Nutrition Program.

I am also a proud mother of three wonderful children.

I believe that young children learn best through exploration. My program offers children many opportunities to ask questions, explore and discover within the context of a safe, loving environment. Through child-initiated and teacher supported activities, the children discover and expand their interests in a cozy home preschool setting while learning the skills necessary to be successful in school.

Learning is integrated throughout our day at Little Rompers. The items placed in the choice time areas are there to promote learning as well as encourage positive social interactions.

Children learn through their play experiences and develop:

cognitive skills – like math and problem solving while exploring in a sensory bin
physical abilities – like manipulating play-dough or kicking balls in the yard  vocabulary – like the words they learn during story time or playing puppet theatre
social skills – like playing together in a pretend kitchen
literacy skills – like creating a menu for a pretend restaurant
